Each year, New York Fashion Week brings out the heavy hitters in the fashion world for the best runway shows and collections. Fashion lovers flock to the big apple twice a year for the next seasons designs. Shows are held all over the city each September and February. Last week, ‘The Bomb Fashion Show’ held its third annual show in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. This show was created by ‘Fashion Bomb Daily’s CEO and Editor Claire Sulmers, who wanted to give cutting edge designers a chance to showcase their work. It is commonly known that diversity and representation has been a struggle in the world of fashion, design and modeling. This year, designers Jolie Duzon, Fiyah Athletics, Bruce & Glenn, Allison Elizabeth Brown, CBN Chicago, Delisa Rose, Don Morphy, Sai Sankoh, & Mason Beretta, were featured in the showcase.
Celebrity host Nene Leakes moderated the runway while guests enjoyed food, drinks and red carpet photo moments. The star-studded event included attendees Marlow Hampton, former Beyoncé tour stylist Ty Hunter, and a performance from artist Big Boss Vette. This year, there have been many celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop across various cities and states. Media Girls Network was able to chat with Destiny’s Child original member LaTavia Roberson about fashion and who she felt contributed to fashion from the culture of hip hop. “I’m going to have to go with Run-DMC. I love Adidas!” she said.
As an added surprise for the show, Sulmers was able to celebrate the debut of ‘Fashion Bomb Daily Magazine’ and share the collector’s edition in VIP goodie bags for guests.
