GAP X Harlem Fashion Row

ree

In a celebration of culture, GAP and Harlem Fashion Row joined forces in a collab during Black History Month 2025. Featuring the work of 5 Black designers, Aaron Potts, twin brothers Bruce and Glen Porter, Krystal Phillips, Nicole King, and Patrick Henry, the pieces in the capsule were limited edition. Each designer introduced their spin on GAP iconic staples and presented pieces that exude color and unique flair.

Founded in 2007, Harlem Fashion Row is an agency that aims to bring Black fashion designers and the global fashion industry together. They do this through brand strategy, collaborations, and industry events. Some of the major collaborations have been Nike, GAP & Nordstrom

In this capsule, Aaron Potts redesigned the GAP standard white button down shirt. He shared on social media that regarding clothes that sit in people's closets as art pieces, he did not want to create that. "I want to make clothes that you have to fight yourself to not wear them." His redesign of the classic GAP dress shirt allows the buyer to experience fluidity, ease of moment, comfort and a bit of Japanese influence.

Meanwhile, twin designers Bruce and Glenn proctor remixed the GAP hoodie with colorful patchwork design. Think late 80's 'In Living Color' but pastel. Nicole King (N'Gai) gave us an indigo print hoodie and a denim puffer sleeve top.

While the most popular pieces have long sold out, you can still find a few available at the GAP online store. "These are classics, reimagined by culture, for the culture"- Harlem Fashion Row.
