July is heating up in the world of ultra feminine fashion as we all prepare for the release of the Barbie movie. Influencers and content creators are posting Barbie content and utilizing trending audio to capture the moment. NY born fashion designer LaQuan Smith is not missing a beat either. He recently added a few hot pink designs for his SS23 collection.
Smith has been worn by A-list celebs including Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Rihanna and more. He said that when Kim Kardashian wore one of his creations, his site crashed entirely. His designs are trendy, vibrant and cutting edge. The Queens designer took an interest in fashion at an early age of 13 thanks to his grandmother who introduced him to sewing and sketching. In his latest show, attendees convened inside the Intrepid Sea, Space, & Air Museum. The Forbes 30 Under 30 designer blessed his audience with bodysuits with side cut outs, shimmering sequin halter dresses, tops with plunging necklines and plenty of sheer fabrics that flatter the feminine body. He told Vogue magazine, "My woman is in a space where she needs air right now, it’s all about movement and fluidity." LaQuan celebrates playing in color. Very recently Beyoncé wore one of his designs to celebrate her husband Jay Z's work being honored at the New York Brooklyn Public Library.
Smith has been rising in the world of fashion since he began interning at 'Black Book' Magazine in 2007. He made his debut at NYFW in 2010 and has been on fire since. The Barbie moment of 2023 is a perfect playground for LaQuan's style. His designs along with the Barbie brand are ideal for the quintessential girlie girl.
