Lizzo & Sheryl Lee Ralph Red Carpet Emmy Moments

Last nights Emmy awards was filled with some amazing moments. Artist Lizzo won Outstanding Competition Program for 'Watch Out For The Big Grrrls'. It was her first Emmy and bring her halfway to EGOT status; she now has an Emmy and Grammy awards under her belt. In her speech she admitted that she was emotional. “The trophy is nice, but my emotion is for these people who are on this stage with me. The stories that they share are not that unique. They just don’t get the platform." She wore a dress by Jason Rembert and jewelry by Lorraine Swartz.


Legendary Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph also won her first Emmy Award. The 65 year old Broadway actress gave a speech that brought the audience to their feet encouraging the crowd to never give up on chasing their dreams. “This is what believing looks like“ she told the audience. Ralph is only the second black woman to win the award for best supporting actress in a comedy series. In 1987 the award was given to Jackée Harry for her role on the TV sitcom 227. She wore a gown by Brandon Blackwood. Congratulations to Ms. Sheryl Lee Ralph!
